NOTHING IS UNACHIEVABLE. THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY BARRIER

- TAMBARI

helping out. Sometimes, when you go back to what you read, you wonder why the sadness. So it moves me forward. Favourite food and drink I take anything that is delicious. I like water. I was a coke person, but after sometime I became concerned about my sugar level and decided to stop taking it.

What type of style are you comfortable in?

Anything free: bubu and gown Favourite perfume, bag and shoes Shoes! I love all sorts.I like buying and wearing shoes. The first thing I notice in a woman is her pair of shoes. Bag could be anyone, from Gucci, Guess and so on. There is this perfume I love, but I cannot remember the name now because it’s been long I used it. Mum’s advice that has stuck with you She always said, “Be good to people, follow your brothers and sisters, whatever you get, share it with people.’ ’That’s her advice I will never forget. Your best sport, weather, car, colour I am not a sports person, but I used play badminton when I was in secondary school. I love the rainy season. However, sometimes, when the rains are too much, it stops me from doing things. I don’t have a best car; I go for anything sleek and beautiful. I go for any colour that matches what I am wearing, but I have a soft spot for turquoise. Your favourite day of the week and why I love Friday because I look forward to the weekend to rest. I also love Friday because it gives me an opportunity to go to the masjid. I have a sense of belonging when I go to masjid. I feel renewed after the Friday prayer. Beauty routine I don’t have a beauty routine. When I wake up, I take my bath; I don’t even put an eyeliner, let alone makeup. I just apply my pomade and my powder and I am good to go.

At 50 you still look glamorous. What is your secret?

Lots of contentment and sleep. I sleep a lot. With contentment, one can achieve a lot. Role models My elder sister is my role model, anytime, any day. On her birthday last year, I wrote that when I grew up I would like to be like her. She is the president of the Court of Appeal, Zainab Bulkachuwa. Even though I am not on that line, one day I hope to be somewhere like where she is today.

Looking back, what would you tell a younger you?

I would tell myself to go for whatever I aspire to become. Nothing is unachievable. There should not be any barrier, I am not regretting, but I wish I had reached that level where I would be referred to as a professor. I love that because I love reading. Unfortunately, my work does not allow me to read.

Fashion accessory you cherish till date and wouldn’t want to let go

I have a bracelet I cherish till today. It was given to me by my mother. I refused to let go because when I look at it, I look at my mother; it reminds me of her. She gave it to me when I was in secondary school. Till today, I still have it on. First and last app you check every day Facebook, I love chatting with friends because it adds knowledge to me. Favourite music I have two of them: one is inspiring, Lean on me, by Michael Bolton and the other one is Pay to write. I don’t know what she calls it. I don’t have any attachment to the song, but I like it. I like the sincerity in it. My ring tone is Michael Bolton. What you wouldn’t be caught wearing

Knickers and spaghetti hands. I hate them and I don’t think I

would wear them.
