The Kaduna mayhem is everybody’s business. The crises led to loss of many lives and properties worth millions if not billions, and made many stranded, confused, homeless, widows and orphans. Businesses were paralysed because of curfew and roads leading to many states and neighbouring countries were closed. So, there is no gainsaying that the people suffered a great deal. The Federal Government should initiate a forum and allow people of the state to have dialogue among themselves to sort out possible means or ways for lasting peace to reign in the state.

I also urge the federal government to take the Kaduna and Jos crisis very seriously. Let justice be done, those found guilty in this ugly and inhumane act should at least be punished to serve as deterrent to others with similar misguided chivalrous mind set. They should be made to account for the lives and property that were lost. I also appeal to all people of the state to forgive one another. The people of Kaduna used to be peace loving, loyal, tolerant and understanding, they should think of the good old days.

Please, let’s forgive and forget, for forgiveness is to stop being bitter or angry with one another. Forgiveness limits and paralyses those who mean evil against you. It is forgiveness that gives you an edge over and above your enemies. Bear in mind that there is no revenge as sweet as forgiveness. In short, he who cannot forgive breaks the bridge which he himself must pass. Lastly, we should know that nothing destroys today‘s happiness than thinking about yesterday’s misfortune.

Let us come together as one; because alone we are weak but united we are powerful. Government should also compensate those who were affected. Other activities that will engage the communities (youth) like sports should be initiated.

Furthermore, I appeal to the youths who are used in many of these acts (operations) to turn a new leaf. Nigerian youths should aspire to be responsible citizens. They should shun drugs and other social vices.

The Nigerian woman plays a vital role in planting, harvesting, preservation, processing and post harvesting technology management.

They also take part in the marketing of all forms of agricultural products, but in some places they cannot own lands for farming and this is impeding their productivity. There is an urgent need to assist women in agricultural practices through provision of land. Those in positions of authourity should look into the matter with a view to tackling it.
