- By Muideen Olaniyi

As the campaigns for the 2019 elections kick off today, the Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo Dynamic Support Group, has set machinery in motion towards securing 40 million votes for President Buhari.

The move was launched in Abuja yesterday at a retreat for leaders of the organization at national, zonal, local government areas and ward levels.

The National Coordinator of the support group, Usman Ibrahim, said, “our members are patriotic Nigerians of diverse professional, ethnic and religious backgrounds with commitment to support Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo administration towards building a progressive, peaceful, united and prosperous country”.

He said to actualize the 40 million votes for President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo, the total number of 2,725, 359 exco members from the national to the unit level are mandated to each deliver four voters.

Ibrahim brushed aside any threat by the opposition, saying, “we are not bothered by what any party is doing. We are just waiting for the time we would go out and sensitize Nigerians on the need to return the current administration to continue the good work it is currently doing”.

According to the National Coordinator, the members want the current administration to return to power due to its “incorruptibility and undiluted commitment to the accomplishment of the Change Agenda”.

“We feel compelled to offer ourselves as catalysts toward facilitating the actualization of their laudable visions for Nigeria.

“It is also important to reiterate the need for a second term for Mr. President, because since assumption of office, Buhari has been able to fight insurgency to an admirable level, addressed challenges in education, diversified the economy through agriculture and expanded transport/ communication sector through rail development,” he said.
