KNOVEMBER 3RD,

nowing how to hold a polite conversation can be the key to networking and making new friends. Your first encounter is sometimes all your acquaintance needs to define your character. So it is necessary to acquire the skill of holding polite conversations so as not to create the wrong first impression. The Dos Listen more and talk less: One needs to talk less so that one doesn’t make the conversation about

This week, Tambari presents many interesting topics. Our Culinary segment features a mouthwatering dish that is simple to make. Beef chilli and basmati rice is the perfect quick but delicious meal you can prepare.

Go to events with relevant questions: People like to feel special. When you ask questions about what your acquaintances like, their favourite places and things like that, they feel good. For instance, if you know that John likes to skate in Iceland, you can ask more details about skating.

Also, check out our Etiquette corner, where we are explaining the proper etiquette you should use in conversation. Meanwhile, in the Health section, we are telling you how smartphones affect your health. In the Beauty segment, we are also guiding you on how to clean your face.

Our cover personality develop and work on it. So far, it has grown via referrals and recommendations. That’s how we have been going during these past four years.

As a chief operating officer, I specifically handle things like investor relations, people management, financial management and business analysis. It is a broad role and very fulfilling. I get to do a bit of everything. So I have to know everything relating to the company. It is an interesting role and I am gladly doing it.

You were featured on the Forbes Under30 list, how would you describe that?

I am always happy to be included on such prestigious lists that talk about business and what we have achieved. It was an incredible honour to be listed alongside my co-founders, recognising people that

Take turns to talk: A conversation should not revolve around one person, so, if you have spoken for about five minutes without questions or contributions from the other people in the conversation, stop to let them contribute. The Don’ts Do not interrupt: It is rude to interrupt people when they are talking. It suggests that the speaker is not making sense. Don’t talk to only one person in a group: Talking to one person would make other people feel insignificant. Engage everybody in the group so that they feel comfortable enough to contribute to the conversation. You can learn a thing or two from the quiet ones.

Don’t say more than necessary: is Odunayo Eweniyi. She spoke about her sojourn in techpreneurship and many more experiences. Read her insightful interview inside.

Have a splendid week ahead!

CALL: 0818 7703733 EMAIL: tambari@dailytrust.com are doing incredible stuff. I am privileged to work on this brand and see how much the market loves it as much as we do. So the joy is overwhelming. Growing up I had an incredible childhood. I was a bit of an unusual child, but my parents are some of the best people I know. They gave me everything I needed. They are also the ones who fostered my love for reading. They allowed me to be as independent as I wanted to be, as outspoken as I wanted, and I think these two qualities have defined who I am as a young woman right now. Challenges Building Piggyvest was a team effort, and as a team, we faced a few of them. Fundraising, being young and launching a financial platform was quite unusual. We also faced the challenge of getting the market to trust us. When we launched, some banks and people were arguably more qualified than us. But we came with technology and asked people to trust us to do what their banks were doing, even better. It was something we continued to work on constantly and look at. Also, the fact that we were able to build a business that would help us overcome the financial challenge finally.

Where do you see Piggyvest in the years to come?

We see Piggyvest becoming a digital financial warehouse for young Nigerians. We want to help people achieve their financial goals and be the one-stop-shop

Sharing details of your life more than necessary can repel people and make you look insecure. It is not wise to make people uncomfortable by sharing your life experiences. They might not know how to react, which makes it awkward for everybody involved.
