Qadiriyyah holds annual Maukibi in Kamo

Thousands of Muslims faithful converged on Kano yesterday for the annual Maukibi organised by the Qadiriyyah sect under the leadership of Sheikh Qaribullah Sheikh Nasiru Kabara.

The annual gathering was held at the famous Masallacin Kanzu situated along Katsina road Kano.

Qadiriyyah followers from far and near troopped to Kano every year for the annual Maukibi, an event that is being organized by the Darul Qadiriyyah in the state.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, the Supreme Leader of Qadiriyyah sect, Sheikh Qaribullah said the Qadiriyyah doctrine was first brought to Algeria in the year 594AD by Sheikh Shu’aibu Hassan and later taken to Marocco, Muritania and other countries on the continent.

He said later Sheikh Muhammad Maghili took the doctrine to some African countries including Niger Republic and Nigeria.

“In Nigeria, Sheikh Danfodio took it to Sarki Sulaiman in Kano, Malam Muhutari in Misau, Musa Bamalli in Zaria, Buba Yaro in Gombe and Muhd Sambo in Hadejia,” he said.

Sheikh Kabara urged Muslims to pay attention to how their children use social media so that they are misguided by others.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of the Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA), Alhaji Baffa Babba Danagundi, assured followers of Qadiriyyah that Kano State Government would continue to support religious activities in the state.

He said government would construct the famous building of Durasu for the Qadiriyyah sect by next year.
