Free from chains

Psalm 105:17-22, “He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: [18] Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: [19] Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him. [20] The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free. [21] He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance: [22] To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.”

This scripture describes perfectly the condition in which Joseph arrived in Egypt and how God raised him to the top. Joseph was brought to Egypt in chains as a slave. He was brought bound, but he ended up free and at the top. Slavery was the route by which he arrived. He came in chains and in pain. He came forsaken and alone. He came hungry and deprived. He came broke with no hope in sight. He came with a heavy heart.

He must have been confused wondering what had happened to the dream and vision God showed him. However, he ended up at the top, the very place God had previously shown him. Habakkuk 2:3 says, “But the vision is for an appointed time…it shall surely come to pass.” It does not matter in what state you came to this land; you will end up at the very top. Just don’t give up your dream! He was now in control of princes and authorities. He was no longer a candidate for chains.

5 Reasons Chains Are Illegal In My Life

King David sang in 1Chronicles 16:21-22, repeated in Psalm 105:15,“He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, [22] Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.”

1. I’m no longer a slave. Once Joseph got out of prison to assume his new position, you couldn’t dare to chain him again. Once you are born again, you are released from demonic oppression. Jesus Christ has released us from every chain of Satan. The devil knows he cannot bind you, so, what does he do? He gives you the chain so that you can bind yourself with it. These chains are the old habits, the pet sins, anger, resentment, unforgiveness, envy, jealousy, etc.

2. My foundation has changed. I’m built on the Rock of Ages. I’m standing on the Word of God, the amazing promises of my Heavenly Father! He is faithful in keeping His promises. It doesn’t matter what you throw at me, I will survive it. I have survived horrors; I have survived people lying on me. I’ve survived losing my cars. I’ve survived losing my house to fire. I’ve survived an accident in which my car summersaulted five times. I have survived my own mistakes. He preserved my life. He sustains me through every storm. He takes me through every fire.

3. I’ve changed Kingdoms. I’m now a citizen of the Kingdom of God. My Family has changed. I have left a family of slaves to a family of kings. I have a new Source of abundant supply now. Poverty is now illegal in my life except I welcome it.

4. I’m anointed now. It says, “Touch not Mine anointed, and do My prophets no harm.” You are on fire when the Spirit of God comes upon you. The anointing symbolises consecration to serve God. The anointing is for service and service makes you resistant to bondage. It gives you immunity except you don’t know. I’m too hot to be chained. You can’t break me. You can bend me, but you can’t break me. You can cast me down, but you can’t keep me down!

5. I know the TRUTH now. The is not just revelation, the TRUTH is person: I not only know the truth, I have The Truth living on the inside of me! His name is

JESUS!! Glory to God! Ignorance made me subject to defeat but now I have Light. Now I know too much to be chained! Jesus Is Our Deliverer What Liberates A Man From Chains? It is not the anointing! Jesus could not set the people in His hometown free not because He was not anointed but because they did not believe. They did not believe because they were ignorant of His real person.

Sin brings the chain, but ignorance keeps it in place. So, what is the cure?

John 8:32, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” It takes the truth to break the chains. What Truth Are We Talking About? John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

If Jesus never made this statement, it would seem that truth is just a concept of reality. But this statement makes it clear that truth is a Person. It is only in Christ that TRUTH and PERSONALITY coalesce. It is the revelation of the Truth (Jesus), that brings liberty!

In Mark chapter 5, He went to a tomb in the country of the Gadarenes and broke the chains of a mad man, setting him free from years of insanity, degradation and humiliation. That man became a popular Evangelist. It was the revelation of JESUS, that brought liberty. In his mad state, he recognised Jesus as the Son of God, as THE TRUTH! It was not his mind that recognised Jesus, it was his spirit. His condition changed! I’ve met with Jesus, He has located me. And my condition has changed! I’m transformed.

I’m transferred from prison. Transferred from lack. I’ve moved from not enough to more than enough.

Transferred from failure to favour. Transferred from sickness and disease to soundness of mind and body. Transferred from death to life! He gave me life, He gave me freedom, He gave me wealth. He gave me an inheritance I can never finish!

Just like Joseph suffered to make way for his family, He who is the way, suffered to make way for me. Satan, you can never hold me bound anymore!

Therefore, the chains of the enemy cannot hold me anymore!

No matter what you are going through right now, it is not the end of your story; God has his plans for you. You will not end up in the pit; you will not end up in slavery; you will not end up in prison; you will not end up in pains and in chain!

You will end up in Glory and Greatness!! Every experience you have had will work together for your good! Never lose your hope. Even if you do, God will not change his plan concerning you. Those who left you will soon regret it. Those who sold you will soon need you to survive. Those who planned to kill you will soon be begging you to keep them alive! Those who conspired against you will soon be blaming one another! I see you rising out of the ashes of defeat to an enviable position! Kings will soon be seeking your favour!

Just keep serving! Joseph kept doing what he had passion for; he kept serving, leading and interpreting dreams. Don’t wait until everything is working well; keep serving and developing yourself. Soon, your dream will find fulfilment.
