2023: We will shock Nigeria’s political space – APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it has repositioned and strengthened its structures to win the Edo and Ondo governorship elections and the 2023 general elections.
Inaugurating reconciliation committees for Imo and Ogun states on Friday, in Abuja, the Gov. of Yobe State and Chairman of the APC National Caretaker/National Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni, said the outcome of the reconciliation effort would shock Nigerians.
The Buni-led committee was constituted in June, 2020, following the dissolution of the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the party by the National Executive Committee (NEC).
The committee is saddled with the responsibility of reconciling all aggrieved members of the party and organising the party’s national convention for the election of new NWC members.
Buni said, “The caretaker committee had shortly after its inauguration initiated some peace building and true reconciliation mechanisms to give every member a sense of fairness and belonging.
“I am proud to say that, with the support enjoyed from members of the party, the committee has recorded remarkable headways; reclaiming some distinguished and very valuable members with thousands of their supporters back to our fold.
“I am equally fulfilled that our exploits in reconciling our members in Edo and Ondo states have strengthened the party and further expanded our chances with assurances of winning the governorship elections in the two states with landslide victories.
“Let me also add that, the ongoing reconciliatory initiatives of the APC will soon shock Nigeria’s political space with massive return of former members who felt aggrieved and unwillingly went to other political parties.”
