Remo Stars stake unbeaten run against Wikki Tourists ...As struggling Pillars host Tornadoes in Kaduna

- David Ngobua

Surprise leaders of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Remo Stars will stake their unbeaten run this afternoon as they visit last season’s whipping team, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in their Week 6 fixture at the Tafawa Balewa stadium.

The Coach Gbenga Ogunbote tutored side is yet to taste defeat in the 2021/2022 season having recorded two draws and three wins including the Matchday 1 away win at MFM of Lagos.

Therefore, Remo Stars who returned to the NPFL at the end of last season will fancy their chances against the “Bauchi Elephants” who are placed 10th on the log with six points from five matches.

The other unbeaten team this season, Rivers United, will host Kwara United in a grudge match at Yakubu Gowon stadium in PortHarcourt.

It will be recalled that last season, Rivers United denied Kwara United a continental ticket under controversial circumstances.

In other week six matches, Kano Pillars who are last on the table with a miserable four points from five matches will play host to Niger Tornadoes in Kaduna, Gombe United welcome second placed Enyimba FC at the Pantami stadium, 3SC will be hoping to return to winning ways as they host Sunshine

Stars, high-riding Enugu Rangers welcome MFM to the “Enugu Cathedral” while former champions, Plateau United battle Dakkada at the New Jos township stadium.

Meanwhile, Lobi Stars who edged reigning champions Akwa United 1-0 last Sunday will visit Nasarawa United in a mouthwatering north-central derby just as crisis-ridden Heartland travel to face Abia Warriors in an “Oriental derby” which the hosts have been tipped to win.
