Simple ways to boost your skincare routine

- Compiled by Rosemary Etim Bassey

Although there isn’t a miracle cure that can improve your skin’s condition, you can restore its appearance with a consistent skincare routine. The products you use and the consistency with which you apply them are the most important aspects of a healthy skincare routine.

If you want to improve your skincare routine, you don’t have to spend a lot of money. On the contrary, many of the proposed methods are inexpensive; all you need to do now is figure out how to include them into your daily beauty routine.

There are, however, methods to strengthen that routine by supplementing it with certain products and techniques. Let’s have a look at how we can do that;

Face masks are an excellent addition: You can check out a variety of masks to discover if they are suitable for your skin type. There are a range of substances that can make your skin appear beautiful, from those sheet masks that you can buy anywhere to DIY masks that you can make at home. Choose a moisturising mask if your skin feels tight. If your face is oily and you’re getting breakouts, go for a clay mask that will mattify the skin while also cleaning the pores.

Increase your intake of plant-based foods: Eating more plant-based foods is beneficial not just to your body but also to your face. Converting to a plant-based diet can help to minimise facial irritation. Concentrate on vitamin C-rich collagenboosting foods. Avocado, strawberries, blueberries, and sweet potatoes are just a few examples of foods to explore.

Incorporate vitamin D3 into your daily routine:

Starting to take supplements may not appear to be an obvious strategy to improve your skincare routine, but it is worth a go. Vitamin D3 supplementation is a sensible way to improve your skin’s condition. Vitamin D3 is essential for the skin’s ability to protect itself from pollution and other harmful environmental influences. It also aids in the healing of our skin, whether from acne or inflammation. Unfortunately, as people age, their ability to produce Vitamin D3 declines. It can be obtained from food and the sun, but in most situations, these sources are insufficient. You should think about using it as a supplement right now.

Try a facial Massage: The lymphatic system is responsible for draining extra water from your face, which can cause puffiness. Dark circles, puffiness, and a generally unhealthy skin appearance might occur when you are inactive or your system is slowing down. Facial massage aids in the improvement of circulation and the return of oxygen to our faces. You may have better-looking skin every day with just a few minutes added to your skincare routine, believe it or not. When you apply your serum, facial oil, or moisturiser, begin massaging your face. Face massage can be learned and used in a variety of ways, from online lessons to the use of instruments like the jade roller.

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate: Exfoliating your skin on a regular basis is another technique to improve your skincare routine. That’s because exfoliating helps to renew your skin and give it that lustrous sheen that so many ladies desire. Dead skin cells must be removed from the skin’s surface as part of your daily skincare routine and makeup application. It’s important not to overdo it. Exfoliate once or twice a week. Find exfoliators that are appropriate for your skin type and use them gently at first. You can even begin by exfoliating once a week and gradually increase your frequency.
