2023: Nobody will be forgotten in my government – Tinubu
The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has promised to run an inclusive government if elected in 2023.
Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, took their campaign to the Centre of Excellence, with an assurance to carry on with the progressive government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Tinubu told thousands of his supporters to use their voter’s cards to retire the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, whom he said had been running since 1999.
Chieftains of the APC, including the 22 governors led by the Progressive Governors’ chairman, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State and former governors, attended the rally, which was held in a stadium.
Tinubu was the governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007 and has been deciding his successors since he completed his tenure.
“I especially thank President Muhammadu Buhari for the unprecedented federal support and commitment to Lagos State. We have come a long way from presidents, whose sole obsession was to capture or conquer Lagos in do-or-die fashion, to a president who loves the state greatly and is keen to see it do very well,” he said.
Tinubu also urged Lagosian to vote for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat for a second term.
Governor Bagudu said all the 22 governors endorsed Tinubu because of his capacity, capability and competence, assuring that Tinubu would include everyone.
The host governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said Tinubu is the best man for the job.
