We need to improve agricultur­e through science, tech – Nyako

Aformer governor of Adamawa State, Muritala Nyako has said that it was time farmers in the country improve agricultur­e through science and technology.

Speaking in Abuja during the signing of an MOU between All Farmers Associatio­n of Nigeria (AFAN) with the associatio­n of Deans of Agricultur­e in Nigeria and the unveiling of Agrivest reality TV challenge show, he said there was the need for a backup of science and technology to understand agricultur­e.

According to him, agricultur­e needed to be improved in such a way that it would generate profit and resources and as well feed everyone. He said all over the world, agricultur­e was given top priority above education.

He said, “Hunger is making everyone misbehave. All over the world, agricultur­e is a priority. Across the world, only few people go to school, else, the rest have been involved in agricultur­e related matters.”
