UNICEF Chief of Health, Dr Eduardo Celades, extolled Shuaib’s leadership qualities and vision, saying he successfully drove changes such as revitalisation of PHCs, and introduction of rotavirus and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines in the country.

The Director Disease Control and Immunisation NPHCDA, Dr Bassey Okposen, said as a result of Shuaib’s efforts, 70 per cent of eligible persons in Nigeria are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. He added that the country has thus achieved its set target for vaccination.
