Network to boost your business, poultry farmers urged
Chairman of Poultry Farmers Association in Plateau State, Johnson Bagudu, has urged his association members to network among themselves and assist one another where necessary amid the current economic hardship in the country.
Speaking with Daily Trust on Sunday in Jos, the Plateau State capital, over the challenges faced by poultry farmers in recent time, the chairman said many of the members have quit the business while others are operating below their operational capacity and are yet to bounce back.
He explained that finance has become the major issue limiting those in the business as well as stopping those who quit the business but are planning a comeback.
The chairman then stressed that they are still meeting among themselves, discussing and networking on how to remain afloat in this current situation and always, and that at such times, their coming together to brainstorm on how to handle challenges and progress in their endeavours is vital.
He urged his members to remain hopeful and strive to excel, noting that the current economic hardship in the country hit so many sectors other than the poultry sector, and everyone is trying their possible best to keep moving on and survive.
Bagudu also explained that though feed price keeps increasing, but the price of egg has equally gone up, and they are hoping to leverage on that to make a little profit.
According to him, they are all trying to restock and would need finance to do so, adding that they recently wrote to the Plateau State government to intervene and endeavour to boost the poultry sector as the sector remains one of the major employers of labour.
