Malcomines, Army, Police, face off in 2023 Abuja Carnival Polo tourney
The nation’s capital city of Abuja is set to be a beehive of polo activities as it prepares to host the 2023 Abuja Carnival Polo tournament.
Organized and hosted by Guards Polo Club in Asokoro, the annual is guaranteed to be a sellout, and as battleready teams are already on ground to thrill polo enthusiasts in a bumperto-bumper display of skills.
Polo Royals authoritatively gathered that for the first time in its flourishing history, the Abuja Carnival Tournament 2023 that will also witness the
traditional Durbar display would feature teams from all the major polo clubs across the country in weeklong polo excitements.
Guards Polo Resort Captain, Mukhtar Adahama who disclosed this exclusively said the glamorous event will
light up the Federal Capital Territory is billed to thrill from December 9, to December 17, 2023.
Participating teams would vie for honours in four major cups categories that include the event’s top laurel, the President Cup. Others are the Legislative Shield
FCT Ministers’ Cup and the Guards Brigade Trophy.
Last year, Murtala Laushi’s , Jos Malcomines emerged the overall champions, winning the President Cup while the Nigerian Army polo team that fired through with the FCT Minister’s Cup victory.
Others top winners of the year ending polo fiesta included the Abuja Rubicon team that defeated top flying Katsina Max Air team to cart home the Legislative Shield and CSP Machika led Dogonyaro Farm polo squad that edged their local rivals to win the Guards Brigade Challenge Trophy.
