Vassell top-scores as Spurs end losing run Malcomines, Keffi Ponys, others in battle royale at Jos winter tourney

Five times champions, Malcomines polo organizati­on, Keffi Ponys, NSK polo and over 35 polo teams will vie for honours in the 2023/2024 Jos Winter Polo Tournament which will gallop off on December 26 to January 2, 2024 at the popular General Hassan Polo Ground in Jos.

Polo Royals exclusivel­y gathered that the added allure

during the tournament this year would be the inaugural Charity event that would gallop off the prestigiou­s tournament on Christmas Day and the return of the popular Miss Polo Pageant.

President of Jos Polo Club, Alhaji Murtala Ahmadu Laushi who dropped this in an exclusive chat stated that the arrangemen­t has been put in place as the club is expecting another large contingent of entries, as preparatio­ns are in

its final stages.

“With the Crown Club readily at hand we now have the capacity to handle the large turnout as some of the games would be played at the resort and this would ease the pressure on polo ground and give out esteemed guests, players, and polo enthusiast­s to explore more of Jos, the “Home of Tourism.”

Four traditiona­l cup categories with the President Cup, Governor’s Cup, NASCO

Cup and Imani Cup. Handful of subsidiary prizes would be on offer and participat­ing teams would be locked in eight days of fierce battle royals to decide the winners of the winter polo festival.

Laushi who is also Secretary Nigerian Polo Federation (NPF) has assured polo enthusiast­s and tourists that the club will host the best winter polo fiesta that will surpass previous editions in every respect in years.
