Tinubu, govs, others to attend 2024 Lagos Polo Finalepolo

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected as the Special Guest of Honour at the grand finale of the ongoing 2024 Lagos Internatio­nal polo Tournament which climax today at the foremost Ribadu Road Polo Ground in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Asiwaju Tinubu is expected to lead a highpowere­d delegation that will include governors, members of the National Assembly and traditiona­l rulers to the internatio­nal event that featured top profession­al players from Africa, Europe, Argentina and Nigeria.

Lagos Polo Club who disclosed this, stated that the President’s visit to the polo finale follows on a long tradition of having all former Heads of State and president witnessing the Lagos fiesta since Nigerian Independen­ce in 1960.

“Yes we are expecting

President Tinubu as the Special Guest of Honour on Sunday for the finals and closing ceremony of our 2024 tournament that is hosted to celebrate 120 years of polo in Lagos, and we are all thrill to having the President leading other top dignitarie­s to our final on Sunday,” the Lagos chieftain added. Tinubu who has been a passionate polo buff, having been special guest at the prestigiou­s fiesta in the recent past, would witness the Silver Cup final and is expected to present prizes to the winners, before heading back to Abuja.

The Nigeria’s premier polo tournament which galloped off January 23, with 39 teams drawn from all the major polo centers across the country, has seen Lagos based teams sweeping all the major prizes at stake, and from all indication­s the stakes are in favour of another victory for Lagos in today’s Silver Cup final.
