Kwara gov signs budget of N130bn into law
Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed yesterday signed the 2014 budget of N130 billion into law.
Daily Trust learnt that the estimate of N124 billion submitted to the state House of Assembly by the governor in December, last year was jacked up by five per cent.
Ahmed said the budget themed: “Budget of expansion for inclusive prosperity”, is a blueprint for building on existing programmes and initiating new projects for the benefit of the state.
The governor explained that the increase in the budget was to accommodate the delays in securing the proposed N30 billion bond for socioeconomic capital projects.
Ahmed promised to adhere strictly to the provisions of the budget with a view to putting more money in peoples’ pockets, getting more youths into work, remodelling additional hospitals and other social amenities.
