FG un­cov­ers 1,050 age cheats in civil ser­vice

The Head of the Civil Ser­vice of the Fed­er­a­tion (HOSF), Al­haji Goni Aji, yes­ter­day said the ser­vice has screened out 1, 050 age fal­si­fiers in the civil ser­vice through the In­te­grated Pay­ment Per­son­nel In­for­ma­tion Sys­tem (IPPIS).

Speak­ing at the 60th an­niver­sary of the Nigeria civil ser­vice in Abuja yes­ter­day, Aji said the dis­cov­ery will open the space for work­ers who have suf­fered de­lay in their pro­mo­tion.

“We have screened out per­son­nel who have tin­kered with their records to re­main in ser­vice. I can as­sure you, in the next two weeks, these people will be on their way out of the ser­vice,” he said.

Also speak­ing, Min­is­ter of Na­tional Plan­ning Bashir Yuguda, who rep­re­sented Vice Pres­i­dent Na­madi Sambo, charged civil ser­vants to re­main true to the core val­ues of the ser­vice which in­clude in­tegrity, mer­i­toc­racy, dis­ci­pline, po­lit­i­cal neu­tral­ity, per­ma­nence, ac­count­abil­ity, trans­parency and anonymity.

He said that Pres­i­dent Good­luck Jonathan has adopted a col­lab­o­ra­tive ef­fort with the min­is­ters on key per­for­mance in­di­ca­tors to iden­tify per­form­ing MDAs.
