Jonathan fires NNPC scribe

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointmen­t of Mr. Ikechukwu Oguine as the new coordinato­r, Legal Services and Company Secretary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporatio­n (NNPC).

Presidenti­al spokesman, Dr Reuben Abati, said this in a statement last night.

According to him, Oguine, from Anambra State, replaces his kinsman, Mr. Anthony Chukwuma Madichie who has served as the NNPC legal adviser and secretary since February 2011.

The presidenti­al spokesman noted that Oguine had over 29 years of legal experience.

“He (Oguine) was previously the General Counsel of Chevron Nigeria Limited and has been a partner in Advisory Legal Consultant­s, a law firm specialisi­ng in oil, gas, power and mining”, Abati added.
