IG deploys Special Forces to stop Zamfara attacks
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Abubakar has ordered the immediate deployment of a huge contingent of police personnel to stop the recurrent attacks by criminal elements in villages in Zamfara State.
“Ten Units of Police Mobile Force (PMF), three units of Conventional Policemen, a Unit CounterTerrorism personnel, Border Patrol Teams and Force Intelligence personnel drawn from various Squadrons and Commands are to reinforce the operation of the existing Force in the affected areas,” a statement from Police spokesman CSP Frank Mba said yesterday.

of also commence aerial patrol and surveillance to monitor the situation.
Mba said the IGP “ordered extensive covert operations from the Force Intelligence Bureau while the Border Patrol Teams are to maintain adequate surveillance of all border areas around Zamfara to forestall further infiltration and escape of Marauders through the borders.”
