Eight declare for Bauchi APC chairmanship
Eight people have indicated interest in contesting for the chairmanship of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi state.
Daily Trust gathered from party stalwarts that the contestants include former chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC), state interim organizing secretary of the party, Alhaji Aliyu Sai’du, former state chairman of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Alhaji Sani Shehu Sanin Malam, and Garba Sarki Akuyam, a one time member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly.
Other contestants are one time state chairman of the defunct CPC and former commissioner, Alhaji Shehu Barau Ningi, former chairman of Tafawa Balewa Local Government, Alhaji Aminu Tukur, a former commissioner, Alhaji Uba Ahmed Nana, Comrade Musa Garba Dass and Alhaji Abdulwahab Gambo.
Some of the contestants are known to have a history of political rivalry among themselves which analysts say will make it difficult for the party to elect the state chairman through consensus.
