FIFA course for ref­er­ees, oth­ers be­gins in Abuja

This year’s FIFA Mem­ber As­so­ci­a­tions course for elite ref­er­ees, tech­ni­cal in­struc­tors, ref­eree as­ses­sors and phys­i­cal fit­ness in­struc­tors will be­gin in Abuja to­day.

Or­gan­ised by the Nigeria Foot­ball Fed­er­a­tion with the as­sis­tance of world foot­ball-gov­ern­ing body, FIFA, the five-day course will take place at the Velo­drome of the Na­tional Sta­dium Com­plex, Abuja and will be de­clared open by NFF Pres­i­dent, Al­haji Aminu Maigari.

FIFA is send­ing a pow­er­ful team of ex­perts in the field, led by Ref­er­ees De­vel­op­ment Of­fi­cer Car­los Hen­rique from Gabon, and in­clud­ing renowned for­mer FIFA ref­eree Lee Kim Chong from Mau­ri­tius and Boubakar Han­nachi from Tu­nisia.

For­mer Nige­rian FIFA ref­eree Sani Zubairu is Co­or­di­na­tor of the pro­gramme which will have seven tech­ni­cal in­struc­tors, 37 ref­eree as­ses­sors, 14 phys­i­cal fit­ness in­struc­tors and 30 elite ref­er­ees in at­ten­dance as par­tic­i­pants.
