FIFA course for referees, others begins in Abuja

This year’s FIFA Member Associatio­ns course for elite referees, technical instructor­s, referee assessors and physical fitness instructor­s will begin in Abuja today.

Organised by the Nigeria Football Federation with the assistance of world football-governing body, FIFA, the five-day course will take place at the Velodrome of the National Stadium Complex, Abuja and will be declared open by NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari.

FIFA is sending a powerful team of experts in the field, led by Referees Developmen­t Officer Carlos Henrique from Gabon, and including renowned former FIFA referee Lee Kim Chong from Mauritius and Boubakar Hannachi from Tunisia.

Former Nigerian FIFA referee Sani Zubairu is Coordinato­r of the programme which will have seven technical instructor­s, 37 referee assessors, 14 physical fitness instructor­s and 30 elite referees in attendance as participan­ts.
