- From Ahmed Mohammed, Bauchi

The Federal Government will build a 5000 bed capacity Hajj camp for intending pilgrims in Bauchi, Governor Isa Yuguda has said.

Receiving the 2013 Hajj report from the state’s Amirul Hajj and Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, Yuguda said this year, intending pilgrims will be airlifted from the newly built Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi.

He thanked the Amirul Hajj committee for organizing a successful exercise and pledged to give priority to first timers.

Earlier, the Emir of Bauchi and Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu, told the governor that out of the 2,530 pilgrims from the state that performed last year’s exercise only a female pilgrim from Gamawa, died.
