Customs intercepts 31 vehicles, rice in Owerri

- From Johnkenned­y Uzoma, Owerri.

Vehicles numbering 31 with a duty paid value (DPV) of N75m have been impounded by the Federal Operations Unit zone C’ Owerri FOU) of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

This is in addition to the 7,642 bags of rice with a duty paid value DPV of N160m also impounded by the unit within the period of two weeks.

The Area Comptrolle­r of Customs in charge of the zone, David Victor Dimka, disclosed this to newsmen, yesterday, in Benin, Edo State.
