Thorpe in intensive care, ‘may lose use of arm’
Australian swimming superstar Ian Thorpe is in hospital in Sydney fighting an infection that could see him lose the use of his arm. The 31-year-old’s manager James Erskine has confirmed that the swimmer is battling the infection, and that it is so serious he may never swim again.
“It’s serious but it’s not lifethreatening,” Erskine told Australian Associated Press.
