The Acting Executive Secretary of NIPC, Mallam Abubakar Hassan Sadiq, disclosed this when he played host to the Pakistan Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Mr. Shaid Khaqan Abbasi, in Abuja Sadiq said: “The NIPC is to collaborate with the Pakistan Government through the Pakistan Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the Nigerian economy

“The role of the Commission is to advance the economy of the country through the attraction of Foreign Direct Investment, and we are ready to work with the Government of Pakistan including their Businessmen to invest in the Nigerian economy as the preferred investment destination in Africa.”

He noted that both Nigeria and Pakistan have enjoyed very robust economic and bilateral relationships for a very long time, saying the Commission will work assiduously to ensure that the relationship is strengthened.

Earlier, Abbasi said: “I am here to strengthen our Joint Commission and ensure that we invest in the Nigerian economy.”

The minister called for closer working relationship between the Pakistan businessmen and NIPC in order to advance the economies of both countries, commending the Commission for its plan to host a Business and Investment Forum soon in Pakistan.

The Pakistan team expressed readiness to invest in many sectors of the Nigerian economy, particularly in oil, gas, agriculture and health.
