NIPC hosts investment forum in Pakistan

The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) is planning to host Business and Investment Forum (BIF) in Pakistan as part of the joint partnershi­p between both countries.

The Acting Executive Secretary of NIPC, Mallam Abubakar Hassan Sadiq, disclosed this when he played host to the Pakistan Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Mr. Shaid Khaqan Abbasi, in Abuja Sadiq said: “The NIPC is to collaborat­e with the Pakistan Government through the Pakistan Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the Nigerian economy

“The role of the Commission is to advance the economy of the country through the attraction of Foreign Direct Investment, and we are ready to work with the Government of Pakistan including their Businessme­n to invest in the Nigerian economy as the preferred investment destinatio­n in Africa.”

He noted that both Nigeria and Pakistan have enjoyed very robust economic and bilateral relationsh­ips for a very long time, saying the Commission will work assiduousl­y to ensure that the relationsh­ip is strengthen­ed.

Earlier, Abbasi said: “I am here to strengthen our Joint Commission and ensure that we invest in the Nigerian economy.”

The minister called for closer working relationsh­ip between the Pakistan businessme­n and NIPC in order to advance the economies of both countries, commending the Commission for its plan to host a Business and Investment Forum soon in Pakistan.

The Pakistan team expressed readiness to invest in many sectors of the Nigerian economy, particular­ly in oil, gas, agricultur­e and health.
