Media Trust loses senior account staff

Staff of Media Trust Limited were thrown into mourning yesterday over the death of a senior accountant in the company, Hajiya Aisha Badamasi-Alhassan.

Hajiya Aisha BadamasiAl­hassan who died after a brief illness left behind an aged mother, four children and her husband, Mal. Yusuf Alhassan, the company’s Senior Manager, Human Resources.

Her younger sister, Jemila Badamasi, described the news of her death as a “rude shock” said she spoke to her on Wednesday and she sounded very well. Her close friend, Hajiya Aisha Umar Yusuf, described her as very nice and easy going woman, saying, “We are going to miss her. I pray God grant her Aljanah firdaus”. She was buried yesterday according to Islamic rites.

Present at the funeral were the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Media Trust Ltd Mal. Kabiru Yusuf, the Managing Director Mr. Ishaq Ajibola, the Editor-in-Chief Mal Mannir Dan-Ali, company’s managers, colleagues and other sympathize­rs.

Late Aisha Badamasi Alhassan started working with Media Trust as freelance advert canvasser in 2004 at its Kano office.

In 2005, she was employed as Accountant 1 still in the Kano office before she was transferre­d to the head office in Abuja in December 2007.

Until her death, Aisha was a Senior Accountant in the company’s Finance department.
