South Africa to start process for procuring more power

South Africa will start a procurement process for 2,500 megawatts of additional coal generation electricity capacity next month, Energy Minister Ben Martins said, as it strives to boost power supply and prevent blackouts.

In a statement, Martins said the department of energy would also look at procuring 800 megawatts of cogeneration power from this month.
