Jonathan to formally receive Shekarau to PDP on Tuesday

Since the movement of Shekarau from APC to PDP about four months ago, there have been criticisms and comments from his adversaries and traducers who felt Shekarau should not have joined the ruling PDP. Perhaps, unknown to these critics, in politics, there is no permanent enemy or friend but permanent interest. They called Shekarau all sorts of names but the man remains steadfast and consistent in his new party. Shekarau, known for his political sagacity and eloquence has made series of comments on several issues, not minding whose ox is gored, and these have also attracted stiff responses from the opposition. Those who criticize Shekarau know his worth, which Shekarau has also displayed. In the last four months, he has carved a niche for the party and his supporters. Kano in particular has witnessed a monumental manifestation of PDP more than ever before in the last four months in spite of the populous red caps. Some of Shekarau’s adversaries claim that Shekarau uses religion to manipulate people. But as a Muslim, the closeness of Shekarau to Allah in all his deliberations is normal and expected of every Muslim since Islam is a complete way of life. As Jonathan formally receives Shekarau into PDP, we pray for the peace and progress of the state and Nigeria.
