FC Taraba to punish keeper Ocheayi
FC Taraba first choice keeper Richard Ocheayi will be sanctioned by his club following the red card he received in Sunday’s week six match against Kano Pillars.
The goalkeeper whose unruly behaviour saw him picking a second yellow card in the match which his team went on to lose 3-1 has since shown remorse.
However, the Technical Adviser of FC Taraba Nduka Ndubuisi has said the player will face appropriate punishment from the management of the club.
He said the team’s code of conduct will determine the kind of punishment that would be meted out to the goalkeeper.
The former Heartland gaffer also attributed his team’s loss to the disappointing behaviour of his goalkeeper saying if not for the senseless act, his team would have given Pillars a good fight.
“We are all disappointed in the behaviour of our goalkeeper. He cost us this match.
“We don’t encourage our players to get involved in questioning referees decisions.
“There is a code of conduct on ground and it will serve as a guide in dealing with such behaviour. When we go back, appropriate measures would be taken to address the issue.
“We are all sad because his behaviour cost us today’s (Sunday).
