NSCIA con­demns Nyanya bomb blast

The Nigeria Supreme Coun­cil for Is­lamic Af­fairs (NSCIA) has con­demned Mon­day’s bomb blast in Nyanya mo­tor park in Abuja which killed scores and left more than 100 oth­ers in­jured.

The con­dem­na­tion is con­tained in a state­ment is­sued by Al­haji Femi Ab­bas, the Chair­man, NSCIA Me­dia Com­mit­tee, made avail­able to news­men yes­ter­day in Ibadan.

The coun­cil con­doled with fam­i­lies of the vic­tims of the blast and other Nige­ri­ans who were di­rectly or in­di­rectly af­fected by the tragedy.

It prayed Almighty Al­lah to spare the coun­try from calamity and pro­tect in­no­cent Nige­ri­ans.

The or­gan­i­sa­tion urged the Federal Govern­ment to take ur­gent steps to pre­vent a re­cur­rence of such ugly in­ci­dent.

It also urged the govern­ment to in­ves­ti­gate the cause of the cur­rent se­cu­rity chal­lenges fac­ing the coun­try and to take ur­gent mea­sures to ad­dress them. (NAN)
