NFF supports Nigeria coaches’ upgrading
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) yesterday assured that it will continue to support the upgrading of coaches in the country, and also tasked coaches in the country to key into the federation’s developmental programmes to improve their skills.
NFF President Alhaji Aminu Maigari who gave the assurance in a message through the Federation’s first vice president Chief Mike Umeh at the opening ceremony of CAF grade C license training course in Abuja yesterday, said that since the programme started in 2011, Nigerian coaches have had the best opportunity to improve in their trade with the knowledge gained from the courses.
Maigari, who expressed satisfaction with the caliber of the resource persons which include former senior national team handlers Monday Sinclair, Amodu Shaibu and James Peters and ex-General Secretary of the Federation Dr Ahmed Tijani Yusuf, said the federation will not relent in its effort to ensure that Nigerian coaches are rated high among their peers in the world by providing the enabling environment.
Also speaking, the NFF Technical Committee chairman, Barrister Chris Green, applauded Nigeria coaches for placing the nation in the forefront of the game of football with their exceptional performance their teams in major championship.
Over 80 coaches from within and outside Nigeria are participating in the one-week training programme expected to end on Saturday.
