Security agents foil attack on Misau

Security agents yesterday foiled an attack by gunmen on Misau town of Bauchi State, Daily Trust gathered.

A security source confirmed the incident, adding that one soldier was injured in the operation and that he is responding to treatment.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, said gunmen in a convoy of three Hilux vans stormed Misau town in a bid to unleash mayhem on the people.

DSP Mohammed said security forces comprising police and army who were on red alert engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun battle.

He said the men are on the trail of the hoodlums who fled, adding that the area has been cordoned off.
