Bauchi LG PDP chairman sacked

Executive committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Giade Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has sacked the chairman of the party in the local government, Alhaji Auwalu Maidoya, and the financial secretary, Alhaji Datti Dan’Iya.

The decision to sack the two officers from their positions came at the end of the meeting of the executive committee in Giade after deliberating on the report of the disciplinary committee set up to probe allegations against the duo.

Presenting the report before the executive committee, chairman of the disciplinary committee, Malam Dahuru Umar, said the committee met over complaints received from two members of the party; Yayaji Nakari and Danladi Sabon Sara over allegations that the chairman had abandoned his office and had violated the rules and regulations of the party.

Umar said the committee invited the chairman to defend himself before the committee, but that he refused coming and did not send a representative. He said due to that, the committee advised the executive committee of the party to remove him from office under Article 21.7 and 21.8 of the 2009 PDP Constitution (amended).

The committee appointed the deputy chairman of the party, Alhaji Umaru Abunari as acting chairman.

The committee resolved that the financial secretary had decamped to APC and declared his seat vacant.
