Northern Noodles Limited in Kaduna yesterday distributed food items to widows within its host communities for Easter celebration.

The items donated include 20 bags (50kg) of rice and 40 cartoons of noodles popularly known as Indomie.

Presenting the items to the District head of Kamazou for onward distribution to the widows; the company, Rakesh Agarwal stated that the gesture was aimed at helping the needy to celebrate during the festive period.

“As Easter is approaching, we decided to celebrate with the needy members of our host community because they don’t have any where to get help from; so we see it as part of our corporate social responsibility to cater for the less privileged in our host communities,” he said.

Responding, the district head of Kamazou, Auta B. Makama appreciated the gesture, praying that God replenish them. According to him, 50 widows from the surrounding communities benefited from the gesture. “We are very happy because they put smiles on the faces of the widows in the community,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries of the gesture, Kande Jatau who lost her husband 14years ago said she has been relying on farming to feed and take care of her children since the death of her husband. “I farm maize and soya beans mainly for consumption purpose. The major challenge I face is lack of fertilizer, without fertilizer, the crops will not grow well,” she noted.

She however thanked the company for putting smiles on their faces.
