… As FRSC warns motorists against dangerous driving
The FCT Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Wednesday, warned motorists, especially commercial drivers conveying travellers for the Easter celebrations, against dangerous driving.
The Sector Commander Mrs. Susan Ajenge, who gave the warning when she launched “Operation Easter Patrol” campaign at Giri, Gwagwalada Area Council, said the exercise was aimed at curtailing the number of road traffic accidents during the festivities.
She stressed the need to also enlighten drivers, commuters and the general public on the dangers of over-speeding, dangerous overtaking, overloading and using cell phones while driving.
She observed that during festive periods, motorists, especially commercial drivers, are always in a hurry to get to reach their destination, leading to avoidable loss of lives.
Also speaking, the Acting Zonal Commander, FRSC, Zone 7, Abuja, Mr. David Mende, implored the commission’s officials to always enlighten drivers and passengers on the safety measures on the highways.
He also instructed them to do their work without fear or favour, calling on them to be polite to motorists.
