FIFA scribe to visit World Cup cities next week

As prepa­ra­tions for the FIFA World Cup con­tinue, FIFA Sec­re­tary Gen­eral Jerome Val­cke will re­turn to Brazil next week to visit four Host Cities - Sao Paulo, Cu­ritiba, Cuiaba and For­taleza - from 22 to 24 April 2014. Along­side Brazil’s Min­is­ter of Sport, Aldo Re­belo, and mem­bers of the Lo­cal Or­gan­is­ing Com­mit­tee (LOC) Board of Ad­min­is­tra­tion, Ron­aldo and Bebeto, he will meet rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the Host Cities and visit the Arena Corinthi­ans, Arena da Baix­ada, Arena Pan­tanal and Aterro de Iracema, where the FIFA Fan Fest in For­taleza will take place.

On Tues­day, 22 April 2014, the del­e­ga­tion will meet Sao Paulo Deputy Mayor and Co­or­di­na­tor of the Mu­nic­i­pal Sec­re­tariat for the FIFA World Cup Na­dia Cam­peao, the Sec­re­tary of Plan­ning and De­vel­op­ment of the State of Sao Paulo Julio Se­megh­ini as well as rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the club, in a visit to Arena Corinthi­ans at around 10.30 (lo­cal time) fol­lowed by a me­dia brief­ing.

Af­ter Sao Paulo, the del­e­ga­tion head to Cu­ritiba, also on Tues­day, where it will be wel­comed by club Atletico-PR, city and state rep­re­sen­ta­tives at Arena da Baix­ada. Once there, there will be a tour start­ing around 15.30, fol­lowed by a me­dia brief­ing.

Next stop is Cuiaba, where on Wed­nes­day 23 April 2014, the del­e­ga­tion will visit one of the Brazil­ian schools where the FIFA Foot­ball for Health project is be­ing im­ple­mented. A demon­stra­tion of the course at Es­cola Mu­nic­i­pal Maria Am­bro­sio (Jardim Im­pe­rial) is sched­uled to be­gin at 9.00. Joined by the Gover­nor of Mato Grosso, Sil­val Bar­bosa, and the Mayor of Cuiaba, Mauro Men­des Fer­reira, the group will then head to Arena Pan­tanal. There, from around 11.00, jour­nal­ists will be able to take pho­tos and ask ques­tions.
