Sch­nei­der part­ners La­gos Academy on vo­ca­tional train­ing

Sch­nei­der Elec­tric has signed a me­moran­dum of un­der­stand­ing (MoU) with Field of Skills and Dreams (FSD) Vo­ca­tional and Tech­ni­cal Train­ing Academy, La­gos, for train­ing of Nige­ri­ans in elec­tri­cal in­stal­la­tion and main­te­nance.

The part­ner­ship

is aimed at de­vel­op­ing lo­cal skilled work­force to com­pete ef­fec­tively with for­eign tech­ni­cians as well as curb­ing un­em­ploy­ment, Sch­nei­der said in a state­ment.

Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor of FSD, Mrs. Omowale Ogun­ride, said the train­ing to be car­ried out at the academy will in­volve an in­ter­ac­tive teach­ing method­ol­ogy with fo­cus on prac­ti­cal ex­pe­ri­ence at a lab­o­ra­tory fully equipped with Sch­nei­der Elec­tric train­ing so­lu­tions to en­able stu­dents ac­quire hands-on prac­ti­cal skills.

Ogun­ride said the train­ing, which com­mences June, is an up­graded course for people with min­i­mal or no ex­pe­ri­ence in elec­tric­ity and elec­tri­cians, stu­dents and grad­u­ates with need for fur­ther prac­ti­cal train­ing.
