Schneider partners Lagos Academy on vocational training
Schneider Electric has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Field of Skills and Dreams (FSD) Vocational and Technical Training Academy, Lagos, for training of Nigerians in electrical installation and maintenance.
The partnership
is aimed at developing local skilled workforce to compete effectively with foreign technicians as well as curbing unemployment, Schneider said in a statement.
Executive Director of FSD, Mrs. Omowale Ogunride, said the training to be carried out at the academy will involve an interactive teaching methodology with focus on practical experience at a laboratory fully equipped with Schneider Electric training solutions to enable students acquire hands-on practical skills.
Ogunride said the training, which commences June, is an upgraded course for people with minimal or no experience in electricity and electricians, students and graduates with need for further practical training.
