Schneider partners Lagos Academy on vocational training

Schneider Electric has signed a memorandum of understand­ing (MoU) with Field of Skills and Dreams (FSD) Vocational and Technical Training Academy, Lagos, for training of Nigerians in electrical installati­on and maintenanc­e.

is aimed at developing local skilled workforce to compete effectivel­y with foreign technician­s as well as curbing unemployme­nt, Schneider said in a statement.

Executive Director of FSD, Mrs. Omowale Ogunride, said the training to be carried out at the academy will involve an interactiv­e teaching methodolog­y with focus on practical experience at a laboratory fully equipped with Schneider Electric training solutions to enable students acquire hands-on practical skills.

Ogunride said the training, which commences June, is an upgraded course for people with minimal or no experience in electricit­y and electricia­ns, students and graduates with need for further practical training.
