Motorist kills one, injures cyclist at Kubwa

One person lost his life, while another was seriously injured in an ghastly accident that occurred around phase 4 area of Kubwa, in Bwari Area Council of the FCT.

An eye witness account said the victim, a cyclist, together with his passenger, were negotiating a bend when they were knocked down by a speeding vehicle from behind.

He said the motorcycle suddenly plunged into a gutter, leaving the two passengers seriously injured, and were rushed to the Kubwa General hospital.

City News however learnt that the passenger died on the way to the hospital, as a result of excessive bleeding.

The FRSC Kubwa unit commander, Patrick Davou, said his team was yet to be informed of the incident, but the head, Accident and Emergency unit of Kubwa General Hospital, Paul Olise, said they had an accident victim, who was brought in dead, and had since been deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
