Journalists demand youth c’ttee at confab
The Young Journalists Forum (YJF) has urged the leadership of the ongoing National Conference to constitute a Youth Development Committee to tackle the myriads of problems confronting youth in the country.
This is contained in a communiqué it issued at the end of one-day training on ‘Youth Freedom of Information Act’ in Abuja, jointly signed by Comrade Chukwuma Nzeh and Ene Okon, Coordinator and secretary respectively.
“It is very pertinent at this point of our National progression for us as a youth group to draw the attention of the leadership and delegates of the ongoing Confab to a very salient omission, that of not constituting a Youth Development committee, which should inter alia, make projections that will ensure that if possible none of our future leaders, would be made vulnerable for the kind deceptions that have brought sorrows to several families, communities and the Nigerian state,” it said.
“The committee would ensure that in the near future the Nigerian Youth will be meaningfully engaged no matter their background, either academically, vocationally or otherwise,” it said.
The forum urged the Confab to end youth restiveness in the society.
