We’ll recover our mandate from APC - Kwara PDP
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State yesterday told the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in the state to be prepared to vacate the Government House on or before 2015.
The party insisted that the APC which is currently running the affairs of the state is doing so with a stolen mandate, assuring that the mandate would soon be recovered.
Newly elected chairman of the party, Barrister Iyiola Oyedepo, stated this while inaugurating new officers of the party from the 16 local governments.
He said, “We are giving quit notice to the APC government that is running the affairs of the state with a stolen mandate. The mandate of PDP that is now illegally in the custody of the APC shall soon be recovered.
“I urge our members to get set for new elections, as Kwara people may be called for elections earlier than 2015. The occupants of our government house are living on borrowed time with stolen mandate.”
Oyedepo described the PDP as the “anointed party by God” and urged members to shun unnecessary squabbles which the opposition could capitalise on to defeat the party.
He also urged members aspiring for political offices in the forthcoming election to work hard to secure the support of party delegates, promising that a level playing ground would be provided for all aspirants.
