Stop playing politics with insecurity, Jibrin tells opposition

- By Musa Abdullahi Krishi

Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Senator Walid Jibrin, has called on the opposition political parties to stop playing politics with the spate of insecurity in the country.

Senator Jibrin said at a time Nigeria is passing through a difficult time, it is only appropriate for all Nigerians to “rally round the President and the security agencies in order to curb the menace.”

In a statement he personally signed, the PDP BOT secretary said “terrorism in Nigeria is a product of the menace of the ungodly activities and Nigeria is experiencing the activity in a very costly way.”

He said the opposition should stop blaming the President and come out and help in finding the solution to the menace saying Nigeria needs an urgent solution and special prayers.

“Insurgency and terrorism by Boko Haram are acts of inhumanity to man by man. Many innocent Nigerians, both Muslims and Christians have suffered. In this respect therefore, I call on all Nigerians to stop playing politics with deaths of individuals.

“We should stop

blaming Mr President, the army and the police as the situation is too wide and sophisticated for easy management. The army and the police are trying their best as they cannot cover the total terrain of Nigeria,” he said.

While calling on Nigerians to cooperate with the security agencies, Senator Jibrin said every citizen should show concern about what is happening in the country and assist in offering solutions.

He berated the Adamawa State governor, Murtala Nyako over his letter to the 19 northern governors saying it condemnable as it is reckless and unguarded.
