Obasanjo wished us well in APC - Bode Mustapha

- From Kehinde Akinyemi, Abeokuta

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has reportedly wished his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyalists in Ogun state good luck in the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.

The former National Auditor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and supporter of the former BoT chairman, Chief Bode Mustapha made this disclosure in a chat with newsmen during the State Congress of the APC in Abeokuta.

Mustapha also described the Labour Party (LP) as an appendage of the ruling party, which would collapse in no distant time, hence his decision to team up with the major opposition APC.

Mustapha who was removed from office via court ruling, alongside, former Osun state governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola last year, hinted that he did not consult Obasanjo, but, said Obasanjo was aware of his decision to join the APC and wished him well.

“He did not direct us to join the APC and was not consulted, but, he wished us good luck when we informed him of our decision to leave. I am old enough to take decisions by myself and that is just it.”

The former PDP stalwart, who was adorned in the APC uniform at the state congress held at the Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, last Saturday, said, he had decided to join the APC, “because, it is a national party, and the party is on the verge of taking over the country’s democratic strata in 2015.”
