INEC raises voter education c’ttee
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has set up National Interagency Advisory Committee on Voter Education and Publicity (NICVEP).
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Oluwole Osaze-Uzi, INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, in Abuja yesterday.
The statement explained that the committee would ensure effective dissemination of information and enlightenment of the electorate for credible elections in 2015.
“The commission has established NICVEP for effective dissemination of electoral information and enlightenment of the electorate,” it said.
The committee, according to the statement, comprises members from 15 agencies.
They include INEC, National Orientation Agency, Federal Ministries of Information, Education, Youth and Sport, Women Affairs and Social Development, and Communication and National Broadcasting Commission, among others. (NAN)
