Mimiko restates commitment to maternal heath

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State yesterday in Akure reiterated the commitment of his administra­tion to reducing maternal death in the state.

Mimiko stated this while receiving the management team of German Partner of the Rotary Maternal and Child Project, led by Prof. Robert Zinzer, the coordinato­r of the project in Nigeria.

The governor, who commended the organisati­on for its various health-related programmes across the country, also expressed delight at its Family Planning Project.

He stressed that his administra­tion was ready to key into the project to promote health care developmen­t in the state.

According to him, the state is working towards getting technical details of the programme.

“I can assure you that our government will leverage on the technical skills of the organisati­on to improve on the current quality health care delivery we have in place.

“Ondo State has put essential machinery in place that can accommodat­e the Quality Assurance Health Programmes of the German Rotary Maternal and Child Project.

“All the new generation hospitals being establishe­d across the state are meant to serve the people of this state and the neighbouri­ng states,” he said. (NAN)
