Mimiko restates commitment to maternal heath
Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State yesterday in Akure reiterated the commitment of his administration to reducing maternal death in the state.
Mimiko stated this while receiving the management team of German Partner of the Rotary Maternal and Child Project, led by Prof. Robert Zinzer, the coordinator of the project in Nigeria.
The governor, who commended the organisation for its various health-related programmes across the country, also expressed delight at its Family Planning Project.
He stressed that his administration was ready to key into the project to promote health care development in the state.
According to him, the state is working towards getting technical details of the programme.
“I can assure you that our government will leverage on the technical skills of the organisation to improve on the current quality health care delivery we have in place.
“Ondo State has put essential machinery in place that can accommodate the Quality Assurance Health Programmes of the German Rotary Maternal and Child Project.
“All the new generation hospitals being established across the state are meant to serve the people of this state and the neighbouring states,” he said. (NAN)
