Mimiko re­states com­mit­ment to ma­ter­nal heath

Gover­nor Oluse­gun Mimiko of Ondo State yes­ter­day in Akure re­it­er­ated the com­mit­ment of his ad­min­is­tra­tion to re­duc­ing ma­ter­nal death in the state.

Mimiko stated this while re­ceiv­ing the man­age­ment team of Ger­man Part­ner of the Ro­tary Ma­ter­nal and Child Project, led by Prof. Robert Zinzer, the co­or­di­na­tor of the project in Nigeria.

The gover­nor, who com­mended the or­gan­i­sa­tion for its var­i­ous health-re­lated pro­grammes across the coun­try, also ex­pressed de­light at its Fam­ily Plan­ning Project.

He stressed that his ad­min­is­tra­tion was ready to key into the project to pro­mote health care de­vel­op­ment in the state.

Ac­cord­ing to him, the state is work­ing to­wards get­ting tech­ni­cal de­tails of the pro­gramme.

“I can as­sure you that our govern­ment will lever­age on the tech­ni­cal skills of the or­gan­i­sa­tion to im­prove on the cur­rent qual­ity health care de­liv­ery we have in place.

“Ondo State has put es­sen­tial ma­chin­ery in place that can ac­com­mo­date the Qual­ity As­sur­ance Health Pro­grammes of the Ger­man Ro­tary Ma­ter­nal and Child Project.

“All the new gen­er­a­tion hos­pi­tals be­ing es­tab­lished across the state are meant to serve the people of this state and the neigh­bour­ing states,” he said. (NAN)
