Police arrest 10 armed youths in Gombe

Police in Gombe State arrested 10 armed youths at the venue of last Saturday’s state congress of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Fwaje Atajiri, made this known yesterday while parading them alongside six others arrested over their alleged involvement in various criminal activities.

He said the youths, who were paraded with the weapons, have been disrupting peace in the state capital.

He said three of the paraded suspects were arrested at the residence of a prominent citizen of Kaltungo town in Gombe State on Thursday, April 10.

He said the other three attacked a motorcyclist on Friday night around Barunde in the state capital, dispossessing him of his motorcycle, handset and money.

Atajiri said the victim took to his heels and was rescued by policemen who were on patrol. He added that all those arrested would be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.
