Pillars to vent anger on Heartland

- By David Ngobua

Nigeria Premier League current champions Kano Pillars have vowed to vent the anger of their 0-2 loss to Lobi on visiting Heartland FC in today’s Nigeria Professional Football League week 10 match in Kano.

While Pillars lost 0-2 away to Lobi Stars over the weekend, Heartland FC won their first league match of the season when they defeated neighbours Enyimba FC 1-0 in Owerri.

Pillars loss to Lobi Stars has kept the league champions on 17th position on the table and they are eying the three points against Heartland to climb up the ladder.

Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday, Pillars midfielder Shehu Abdullahi who returned to action against Lobi Stars after recovering from a shoulder injury said they will do everything possible to beat Heartland.

He said Pillars are not happy with their present position on the table and would not take it kindly against any club beginning with the ‘Naze millionaires’.

Shehu said there is no cause for alarm over Pillars present position because the league is a marathon and victory is for the club that will last the distance.

“We are not going to spare Heartland. Having lost against Lobi Stars under painful circumstances, we are not going to take things easy with our opponents.

“Heartland is a formidable side but we are ready to beat them for the maximum points. I know they would want to continue with another win after the victory over Enyimba but they should forget the three points”, he said.
