‘FCT natives deserve a place in Buhari’s cabinet’
The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairman, Micah Jiba, has said original inhabitants of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) deserve to have representatives in Buhari’s administration in order to alleviate their prolonged plight.
Jiba, who made this known in his Nigeria’s 55th Independence message to residents, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to consider FCT natives while constituting his cabinet.
He said the natives looked up to the present administration to end the marginalization they have suffered in the past.
“We are appealing to President Buhari to consider Abuja natives in his ministerial appointments so that we can contribute our quota in his government,” he said.
Jiba, who is also the National President of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), congratulated Nigerians on the 55th Independence Anniversary celebration of the nation, saying that only unity and love have kept Nigeria together.
He implored Nigerians to remain united and work with the present administration in order for President Buhari to move this nation to greater height.
“Nigerians should continue to be law abiding and loyal to this administration, so that the government will be focused and succeed in repositioning the nation in all ramifications,” he said.
The ALGON boss further commended President Buhari for the bold steps he has taken to tackle the issue of insecurity in the North East, saying that with the prayers and support of Nigerians, the present administration would put an end to insurgency in the country.
