NAMA moves to block revenue leakages
The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has devised measures to strengthen processes and procedures for effective revenue generation and collection at the various airports in the country.
Managing Director of NAMA, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam tasked the staff to also come up with new initiatives to improve the revenue base of the agency.
Abdulsalam spoke at a twoday interactive meeting of senior staff of Accounts and Commercial departments of the agency which took place at the FAAN Training School in Lagos.
He said members of staff should “devise new initiatives of improving the revenue base of the agency by streamlining expenditure and blocking leakages.”
He emphasized that there was the need for a working synergy between both departments to thrive in the general interest of the agency.
Abdulsalam also charged them to bring their professional expertise to bear towards effectively reviewing the revenue standard operating manual in order to meet industry best practices and also ensure effective service delivery.
According to Abdulsalam, all agencies of government, including NAMA, should work towards embracing the new fiscal policies introduced by President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
“We all have to align all the agency’s operations to embrace the fiscal policies, like the Treasury Single Account, of the Buhari administration ( TSA) which are geared towards promoting transparency and accountability in the public sector,” he said.
