Mo­bil lauds Aniekeme, Com­mon­wealth three gold hero­ine

For fly­ing Nige­ria’s flag high at the re­cent Com­mon­wealth Youth Games in Samoa New Zealand, Mo­bil Pro­duc­ing Nige­ria has lauded teenage track and field sen­sa­tion, Aniekeme Alphonsus.

Win­ner of three gold medals, one sil­ver and one bronze, the Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State born star was part of the Nige­rian con­tin­gent that won the Ath­let­ics event at the highly com­pet­i­tive Games.

of re­marked that Aniekeme’s jour­ney to star­dom started in 2010, when she dom­i­nated the cham­pi­onships in the sprints and an­chored her school, Com­mu­nity Sec­ondary School Ikot Abia Idem, to the 100 me­tres re­lay gold.

“In 2011 you emerged as the best ath­lete of the cham­pi­onship, but it was in 2013 when we in­sti­tuted the first Hol­i­day Camp­ing and train­ing pro­gramme that you shone like a thou­sand stars, at­tract­ing the at­ten­tion of the na­tional coaches that we had con­tracted to sharpen the skills of the cham­pi­ons of the com­pe­ti­tion,” Arinze noted.
